  1. Hello, I’m about to buy a 2012 natural gas Honda Civic for 6000$ From a private seller. It has 86250 miles on it. I checked everything out today and works fine. What are your opinions on natural gas vehicles? Are they reliable and efficient? Is it worth the money?

If set up correctly they will actually last longer than a gasoline-fueled vehicle. But they must be set up correctly and then realize you'll be filling up the gas tanks a lot the range is rather low

Thank you for the response. If I may ask, how are they set up? Does it need specific maintenance and is the car budget friendly?

If your Honda Dealer has a trained and experienced technician for the natural gas model you will be fine.

They need lass maintnance then the gasoline powered models but brakes, suspension wheel bearings, tires, etc. will still wear out over time.

Be aware too that with their shorter driving range you have to plan ahead to find natural gas sources to refill your tank in order to avoid finding yourself stranded many miles from home.

Thank you for your response. I’ve been weighing my options about the vehicle. What other vehicles would you recommend for a first time buyer with little experience?
