Foot slipping off of Clutch when shoes are wet

Hey everyone! I have a 2017 Miata with 81,000 mi and recently it has been raining in Houston and when I get in my car with the bottom of my shoes wet sometimes it will slip off of the clutch. As you can tell this is extremely dangerous. My solution to this as always been drive shoe-less which my dad says is also dangerous, because if I get into an accident he thinks shoes will give some protection my foot. So my question is simply what is a safe solution to this problem?

maybe you need new shoes. or a new pad on the pedal

how does one install a new pad on the pedal? i haven't seen any videos from scotty about it. does it just pop out of the pedal?

screws from the back maybe. Did you look at it?

no i was just wondering if it was something that was for sure doable before i send 30 minutes fidgeting with the pedal. i'll take a look at it when my dad gets back with the car.

it would take me longer to research the information for you, than it would be for you to just stick your head in there
