Ford 10 speed auto trans nightmare

Scotty,

I have a 2020 Ford Explorer with 30k miles and have had the 10 speed auto trans to the dealer 3 times. Now it’s messed up again. Called Ford and it’ll be a month before they can even look at it - what a disappointment.

i want to trash the thing and buy a HD diesel but am torn - you constantly trash GM & Chrysler but my experience with Ford has been no better. I suppose if I could get a Ford chassis with a Cummins behind an Allison - I want the heaviest duty truck and Toyota not an option due to needing a diesel.

Buy the 6.7 Cummins w/ the Asin transmission and just replace the crap wrapped around it when it goes out with quality aftermarket. I would also get the basic trim package so there’s not more that will need replacing down the road. The 6.7 Powerstroke is a great motor but that 10 speed is not a good situation. Ford doesn’t look at you as a customer you are nothing to them and they expect you to keep buying from them. Let’s be honest America is not making overall quality vehicles for awhile now. You get some good things but the rest is garbage. The 6.7 will serve you well plenty of my ranching friends and family drive them and they go and go and go. Remember, you buy the heavy duty Rams for the Cummins, not for any other reason.

Thank you. Makes allot of sense.
