I have a 2014 Taurus 3.5 non turbo with 123k miles 99% of which are highway. I’ve changed coolant every 50k but starting to get worried about water pump failure as mileage goes up. Is there anything I can do to prolong the lifespan of the water pump and at what point should I just bite the bullet and replace it. Very expensive repair I’m not sure I can do myself.

Just keep changing the coolant but if you're worried change the pump now

Change the pump now and avoid the pain later.
