Ford bronco engine noise

I have a 1995 Ford bronco XLT, it has 256k miles and a 5.0L v8 engine. Whenever I press the gas it makes a ticking sound, what could this be?

Jerry that's a warn engine especially lifters the hydraulic lifters being worn inside the engine
