I bought used car ford explorer 2008. Right now i hear some high pitched whistle sound near engine area. Local mechanics unable to pinpoint the causes.Need your help.

I just did a post about this on my corolla. For me its the fan belt. There is a chance that it is the idler or tensioner pulley as well.
Does the whistling go away when you drive it?

when you shut off the engine, does the sound go away immediately, or does it take a few seconds?

This is usually caused by a squeezy belt or pulley bearing but more information is needed as mountainmanjoe has asked.
