My mechanic says I need new shocks. How much should it cost.  My truck does have over 300,000 miles on it.

They said their shocks are lifetime.  How long should they last.

My wife wants me to get rid of it.   But I don't want car payments again as we are struggling.

Belts were changed recently. Never missed an oil change. And at 175,000 miles replaced rear end.

And the tensator. Or however it's spelled was replaced around 200,000 miles.

Transmission flush was done around 200,000 miles as well.

It sounds good and runs great.  Anything I should watch out for?

My mechanic does look at breaks and inspects but like another opinion. I'm not a car person.

At 300k miles, you want to just keep an eye on everything. At that mileage anything can happen, just comes with the territory. Shocks aren't too expensive and pricing depends on what  brand you go with and how much the shop charges for labor.
