Ford Focus hiss

Topic starter

Hello Scotty,

I have a 2005 ford focus 2.0L engine with a 190500 miles on it and it's recently started hissing when I accelerate. I did some research online and I found that it could be a radiator leak from the tubes or a radiator fluid leaking on the engine. Just wanted some clarity as to what it could be. Thanks. https://youtu.be/bwRPmECzU2c

Have you checked to see if you have vacuum leak?

does it hiss if you rev the engine in park?

@mountainmanjoe
It does do that. I'm going to be checking for vacuum leaks today as well to see if that's the issue. Hoping it is.

I also want to mention, the hissing/squeaking only happens when I hit the acceleration. When I take my foot off of it does go away significantly. It goes away in idle/no movement.

Yaser is right about the vacuum leak. Also these intake manifolds are made of plastic on these and are easily cracked and might have a gasket leak.
