Engine tripped code P1299 for Cylinder Head Temp Sensor which instantly spiked my temperature gauge. This them disabled my accelerator pedal and tossed me into Limp Mode. Since I knew my car wasn't overheating, I plugged my scanner in and erased the code however it's permanently stored in the computer.
How long can I keep resetting the engine code so I can make it back and forth to work before I have to repair it?
Thank you
I am having the same issues with my 2015 Fusion 1.5 liter. Have you been able to fix the problem?
With your scanner what's the vehicle temp actually showing?
@jfellon
Engine was cold when I checked it again. Sat 8 hours, was still peaked on the gauge
I'm assuming you have a Bluetooth scanner correct or a hand held one? If you have access to a scanner while it's running check the coolant temp sensor to see what the vehicle is actually running at when it throws that code
@jfellon
When it occurred, operating temperature was normal then immediately threw the code and peaked. No gradual increase
Coolant level?
@jfellon
Normal. No leaks, nothing burning. Just the faulty sensor
