Hey Scotty I’ve got a 2003 Ford ranger xlt 4.0 v6 It’s got 145k miles on it and I was wondering how often should I change the oil on it and is it bad to go overdue with oil changes with this type of engine?

Change the engine oil and filter every 5,000 miles or so do not reck an engine because the oil is dirty

1 year/5k miles is the recommended interval.
Don't go overdue on your basic maintenance. Otherwise you are asking for trouble.
