ford ranger overflow tank empty

i have 2002 ford ranger edge 3.0 auto trans 210k miles.

Why would the overflow tank be empty after about 2-3 weeks but the radiator is completely full? I recently saw a couple spots in my truck where there was water on the passenger floor and driver side passenger floor? the water thing is new. the overflow tank has been doing this for months.

all right unless you're overflow tank has a crack in it you have a problem the cooling system the overflow tank is exactly what it says it takes the overflow when the radiator gets hot then when it cools down it sucks some of it back in if it goes empty you have a problem somewhere. Do my video how to fix an overheating car engine Scotty

my radiator has a small crack in it i put real thick glue overtop of it. As far as i can tell the overflow tank has no cracks and i don't see any coolant leaking on the ground. Maybe leak internally somewhere?

also my truck does not overheat

Pray that you only have external leak from the cracked radiator. I would change the radiator first.

could it be leaking heater core? with some sort of water on the floor of passenger side that could be it? or air in the system?

Your AC/sunroof drains might be clogged and that’s why yo have wet floor.

If your heater core is leaking, it will be coolant, not water, on your floorboards. Soak some up with a paper towel and see what it is. Replace your radiator.

I just got done replacing the radiator in my '06 2.3L Automatic ford ranger literally 2 days ago. Honestly the job was not that hard. If you need a talk through the procedure please reach out.
