Ford Ranger Steering Issue

Topic starter

Hello, I have a 1999 Ford Ranger with 331,000 miles on the odometer. Both front wheels are canted inwards somewhat, the right side worse than the left. The steering wheel vibrates when you hit a bump, and the steering wanders in a loose fashion. I have replaced the rack and pinion and the upper and lower ball joins a couple years ago, so it doesn’t seem likely that they could have broken already. What could the problem be? Thanks in advance for your help!

You need to check for looseness in the chassis/suspension

  1. Click on the "read this first" topic. (top of the page when you enter)
  2. Click on the link to Scotty video playlists
  3. Watch the playlist "Wheel Bearing/Suspension Repair"

Thanks, will do!
