Should I buy a Ford Taurus

What is opinion on the 2007 to 2019 Ford Taurus?,  I was thinking of buying one between 2010 and 2015 with the key start, I'm not a fan of the push button start ones and all that extra unneeded technology

The engines in those aren't the best, whether it be the Cyclone V6 or the EcoBoost engines. @Daywalker could give some great info on those engines.

Avoid the Ford Taurus especially with the 3.5L NA Duratec (or Cyclone) V6 and the 3.5L Ecoboost V6.  They both had the water pump located behind the timing chain cover and the water pump was driven by a timing chain, so if the water pump leaked then worst case it could take out the whole engine.  It was a poor design decision by Ford.  Even if you caught a leaking water pump in time, you’d still be dealing with a partial engine removal just to change the water pump which would easily run in the thousands of dollars.

See below:  also applies to the Ecoboost version

It looks like transmissions could be a problem in earlier years
