It's a 1997 Ford E-150 conversion van. door cables began failing. Got side barn doors open by pulling the cables from inside but after replacing the broken part with the aluminum door latch cable kit part, then shutting the door it won't open at all - even pulling on the cables doesn't work anymore. Don't know what to do now. Any advice? Door is permanently shut at this point. The latch isn't accessible any longer to be removed.
Yeah, not the greatest of all designs. Obviously you can't go into the past butt when you were pulling the cables to open it, but now they don't work. You should have had it fixed then. My advice is to try to find a Ford mechanic who knows the stuff. Who would be able to take the inside of the door apart and force it open and then repair the latch assembly and cables. Either that or don't even use the door anymore
