Scotty my Friend Bought a 2005 Honda Civic 2 door with 200K miles, he had to replace the engine himself and the new engine has 40k miles its running now, are the Civics in this range known to have Automatic Transmissions Issues?
Yes, that generation of Civic he has (model years 2001-2005) was plagued with transmission problems especially in the earlier years of the generation (2001 being the worst). There were still failures for 2005 model year, so I hope your friend had a really good, independent mechanic thoroughly check the vehicle out especially the transmission before he bought it. And hopefully, it had an excellent service history for transmission fluid change as well, and wasn’t beat the heck out of.
