I have a 2020 Subaru Ascent with about 28000 miles on it. Is this a good time to put a fuel additive in the tank to clean the injection system? How often and what brand do you recommend I use?
It is too early, unless you have some symptoms.
If your car only has a direct injection fuel delivery system, the engine will benefit more by installing an oil catch can.
Your engine is direct injection. I completely agree with @yaser get a oil catch can and it's a little early . What you really want to do is keep your valves clean. Get CRC gdi valve cleaner or a similar spray. Gdi engines should have that done every 20 to 40 miles to prevent carbon build up and serious issues down the line. As of right now injector cleaner isn't needed just use a trusted station. If you want to put your mind at ease and dead set on getting fuel system cleaner try Chevron techron. It's safe and works well
