I was looking for fun car for a weekend

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?sourceContext=carGurusHomePageModel&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=m43&zip=75035#listing=377052448/NONE/DEFAULT

I found this car and I know it's a mercedes but I was thinking of buying as weekend car to spend time with my gf.

I got camry 2023 cmary v6 and she has 4runner with v6 and those are daily and I was thinking buying this just to get outta my system maybe for 3 or 4 years

That’s a lot of luxury for $14k. But it’s a 15-year-old Mercedes V12… It has to be about the most endlessiest money pit on the planet. And I’m guessing it’s not exactly DIY friendly. (Anecdotally, I haven’t seen many of those on the road for a long time. Most of them have probably been sold off to Russia for parts.)

If you want it, have it inspected by an experienced Mercedes mechanic, and you better have $8-10,000 in reserve to keep it running.

We all have different definitions of having "fun" on the weekend.

If your definition of fun is chasing down weird electrical faults (mine is) then this car would be a fun car

Owning a sharp-looking weekend or 'play car' can bring a lot of fun, pleasure. That Mercedes isn't it, it's a unicorn with a cold. I've seen these type of purchases turn into disasters because emotion overtook common sense. So unless you enjoy working on a car more than you do driving it, invest the time and effort into finding the right car. Pick something that won't likely be troublesome.

Regardless of your choice have a mechanic inspect it before purchasing.

For a such period of time take whatever you like. Lower the mileage and not too old car, the better.
