What is something you want to know about cars that you don't know? For me, I really want to know the exact vehicle's problem with the trouble code because not a lot of people answered about what problems to fix with all of the trouble codes.

Anyone else want to respond?

I have always wanted to know what would happen if I got the same model as my family's decade old SUV, and crashed it at 50mph into an XC90.

I know its somewhat uninteresting but I actually do wonder...

Yours is probably more important though.

@Kerem That's an interesting answer to hear lol. Sometimes, it's good to know other things except for repairing vehicles.

Yeah I've already heard enough of engines blowing up and transmissions going out on cars and refering them to the FAQ on this forum better take a break and go answer some car buying questions.

@Kerem I watch Doug Demuro to take a break from Scotty. I don't usually want to hear the same topic. Of course, I'm not a car enthusiast.

I'm not either. I watch Doug's basic videos. Like on the Mercedes Metris, I liked that video, or his Autotrader best used cars video, he actually started recommending Corollas, CAmrys, Civics, and Accords lol. My favorite car show is the Grand Tour on Amazon. I love those guys!!

@Kerem Nice. I would say that Doug Demuro usually recommends cars in certain factors a.k.a the Doug Score.

lol I find the doug score frankly amusing
"weekend score" "styling category" "quality category" "value category"
He also includes reliability in those. Like for a BMW M5 (I think it was) he said it is the best car he would never EVER want to own and gave it a low daily driver score I think.

Now this is just me, but sometimes I feel there is a bit of hypocrocy going on in Scotty's channel... No offense to Scotty though, but he called out a specific website saying you shouldn't trust it and its wrong and then he uses its info in a video. LOL. I feel like I watch Scotty for him being funny.
I know I rambled on a bit with my opinions so here is a video to make you laugh:

@Kerem Lol it is a funny video.

No offense to Scotty. I remember Scotty said the Ford and GM 10 speed automatic are good and then he says they were junk. I guess you can say that he may have say it too soon.

I wish I knew everything about cars, like Scotty does, even if I am not a mechanic.

@G.T. Same

These newer generations of Toyota vehicles we recommend to members - I wish we truly knew how long they would last.  Think about it:  a 2018+ Camry (first MY of that generation) we really don’t know how long it will last - we recommend based on past history and Toyota’s reputation.  According to AAA, the average American drives ~13,500 miles a year so after 10 years that is 135,000 miles for most 2018 Camry owners (assuming that average holds for them).  Perhaps some drive 20,000 miles a year (like myself) and so in 10 years that is over 200,000 miles.  But we may have to wait 10+ years (maybe 15-20 years, who knows) to get a lot more 2018+ Camry’s that hit 200/300/400,000+ miles, and that assumes we have a good number of people that care to keep their vehicle that long.  I give Camry as an example, but apply this for any newer generation Toyota.  And then you got all those electronics, plus Toyota starting to dabble with planned obsolescence - who knows how long they will last.  But I just wish when I recommend Toyota to members that I knew for certain it would last that long.  Every automaker including Toyota has slid in reliability, but still they are worth gambling on versus other automakers for longevity.

I want to know why on a modern vehicle you should have to hook a code reader up to an OBD port to find out what code the computer is showing. Why can't it show on your display... the code with a short description? I know that the answer is so that you head to the dealership... but wouldn't it be a great selling point?

Id love to know what would happen if two Volvo cars crashed head on, would it be a small fender bender or would there be a repeat of the big bang and earth gets shattered into oblivion

During your wait for Einstein to destroy the earth with two Volvos crashing head on, here is a video to pass your time. Old volvo, vs. new hacthback

@Conal Lane Interesting answer. Love to know other answers like Kerem

@Kerem Probably they should crash a Volvo and Tesla head on.

That video is quite alarming, then again that Volvo must be thirty years old. My father drives a 2008 S60 so I hope for his sake it's safer than that wreck above!
