Do you have an idea about what area of manufacturing you're interested in? There's a few.

  • Mechanical engineering
  • industrial design.
  • Electrical engineering (Electric cars will gain momentum)
  • industrial controls and automation

Maybe go for a tour of an auto plant and talk to the people there to get some 1st hand input.

@mountainmanjoe
most likely between mechanical engineering and industrial design but i really cant decide

I would say go for design. I think the engineering is going to be outsourced more and more to developing countries, and sold to the lowest bidder. Design is more likely to remain "in-house".
On the other hand, maybe you live in a developing country, in which case engineering might be an excellent option!

@mountainmanjoe
thank you!

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think this forum is the wrong place to ask that question.

I doubt that any responder or moderator in any car repair forum is qualified to act as a career guidance person.

I encourage you to speak with a career guidance professional, who can evaluate your academic strengths, personal wants and interests, and then help you outline and possibly determine what fields of endeavor your strengths could be best applied.

Sorry
