How to improve gas milage?

Topic starter

I have purchased a 2022 Honda Accord 2.0T Sport, 10 speed automatic. I'm very comfortable with my Accord. However, I've noticed that there are many videos on increasing horsepower and NO videos on increasing miles per gallon. I'm at A loss, can you provide me with advice to increase milage on my Accord? Thanks for any help you can provide.

There are pretty much no modifications you can do to your car to improve its MPG. If there were, it would be made that way from the factory. The engineers who designed it optimized it for the best combination of power and efficiency, if any gimmicky mods, etc. Actually worked, they would use them from the beginning -they try to squeeze every joule of kinetic energy out of gasoline. Doing maintenance on schedule or perhaps a bit sooner, and changing your driving style are the only things you can do to improve your MPG.

Minimize braking whenever safe, don't go excessively fast, no jackrabbit starts and stops. Drive like an old person going to Sunday's church service... it's been a couple months, but I achieved 22.2 MPG in my 1999 Ranger 4×4 going 55 on the highway and minimizing speed changes where safe and legal. The EPA estimate is only 19 MPG highway.

Aside from keeping up with proper maintenance and your tires correctly inflated. The best way to maximize your mpg's is you and how you drive the car. Your right foot plays a big part in that. You don't have to drive like an old person going to church on Sunday, but you also don't want to drive like a bat out of hell either.

Thats a nice usage ..:)  I follow that too.. I say - drive the car without it knowing that it is being driven 🙂
