There is a strong odor of gas when the Blazer is started. What causes this?, and is it dangerous?

Clarification: Which model year Chevy Blazer? Also, what mileage, engine, transmission?
Where do you smell the gas? It could be from leaky fuel injectors, EVAP canister, faulty gas cap,...
Do you have any CEL?
Please answer the questions in the first paragraph of this page.
Is this the 2021 Blazer I saw in a previous post?
I can't tell you why there is an odor of gas when you start the vehicle, there can be many reasons. Yes it could be dangerous. This must be a new vehicle so I would recommend getting it back to the dealer ASAP and having them correct the problem under warranty. Having them send a tow truck would be the safest thing to do. I would give them a call and explain the problem. Good luck.
Bring the car to a mechanic. Gas smell is never a good sign.
