Last year I got a gas smell when I was driving at fast rate. Then I took it to a mechanic who said it was charcoal canister, so I replaced that, then a few months ago I started smelling the gas smell again only at fast speeds as soon as I take my foot off the acceleration I smell gas for about 10-20 seconds then it's gone. No check engine light this time. Plus when I go to the gas station if I'm at half tank or a bit lower when I take gas cap off the strength of the air that comes out is very strong. 2nd question when I turn A/C on no air comes out of middle or driver side vents only passenger side, this happened after my husband replaced heater core which Intailed removing the entire dash. What could these 2 issues be. Oh and how can I get a new ground wire.
Given that the vehicle is 23 years old you can bet that there are deteriorated hoses and seals in the fuel and evap systems. There could even be a leak in the gas tank itself. You'd need to do physical examination of those parts to find the problem(s).
Obviously something was missed when the dash was put back into place, either ductwork, vacuum lines, or control flaps. Probably the dash would have to come out again to fix it.
What ground wire do you need to replace? You can probably get one anyplace that sells auto parts.
Check the fuel injectors…
