Is it really nessasary to put injection cleaner in the gas periodically? {black}:idontknow:

no not injector cleaner. But on a GDI engine it's going to be very important to do intake cleaning . I've seen GDI engines completely destroyed by carbon buildup.

It depends if your injectors are not spraying properly and are experiencing hesitation or lean mixtures. You want those direct injectors to spray in a perfect conical spray pattern. Using an injector cleaner every 5,000 miles will help keep your fuel system clean. I use Techron fuel system cleaner every 5,000 miles for my BMW and it's running great.
