Questions:

  1. Should I wait and change my oil after I have my GDI fuel system cleaned?
  2. Will it matter if I get the oil changed & have the GDI fuel system cleaned at the same time?
  3. I have been advised to get my GDI engine cleaned for carbon every 15,000 miles or 2yrs. Is this wise?

My car info: 2019 Hyundai Elantra, Automatic, 2.0 4cly, 18,500 miles. I use Amsoil products in my car.

I would clean the fuel system first. Then I would drive the car a bit, getting it nice and hot, and taking it up to highway speeds, for a few hours at least. Then I would change the oil.

Hyundai engines are weak, so yes that's probably good advice.
