I bought 2007 Toyota Corolla Manual transmission but turns out that it doesn’t shifts well from 1st gear to 2nd. Not always though but it does get sticky and I have to force it into 2nd. Do you think the transmission is gone? No leaks in fluids, I have changed the transmission fluid. Local mechanic thinks it has a lose links and asked to keep driving till it dies down. What do you reckon?

ok first thing, never ever out it on neutral. remove your sensors, clean them dry with soft cloth. check your shifter cable and spray wd-40, then if issue persists, remove the computer for 30 minutes, put it back, this sometimes helps remove all the glitches and lets your engine code to appear. after you have a code, your can post it here .
that is probably the case.
What you can try to do is to keep the 1st gear longer and shift to 3rd, and (if it works smoothly) drive it until it dies. You can be surprised how long it may last.
