I have a 2003 ford Taurus with an automatic transmission. The car has 182,000 miles on it. I have no knowledge of the vehicle's servicing history. I changed the oil at 180,000 miles and have to do so in the next 1000. There is no issues with the transmission, fluid is clean, just wondering if I should change it when it begins to get dirty or will it damage it?
change it when it stats to get dirty
So... It won't start to slip or anything if I change it?
yes and I change it after this every 70,000
I need answers too, my 2 owner Ford mustang has 152,xxx miles and im not sure whether to change the transmission fluid or not. The past owner told me his father suggested not to change the fluid during his ownership. Just wanna prevent trans slipping and keep it running like new. Currently it doesn't slip or hesitate at all and shifts gears nicely even when pushed hard. Answers would be appreciated
