my nephew bought a new gmc sierra in 2019 and at 31,000 miles the oil coolant line failed while he was driving on a state highway.  as soon as the light came on he pulled over and shut the engine off and got out and saw oil all over ground but truck wouldnt start again and was towed to gm dealer and the engine was RUINED.  truck was still under warranty so he got a brand new engine installed for free and they paid 1 month of his truck payment and gave him a rental truck.  they wont extend the warranty on the truck though.

Question:  whats the chance they did this engine swap right and should he dump the truck before the 5 year/60k mileage warranty on powertrain is up?
