Can I put 5w30 in my Escape

Hello, I drive a 2008 Ford Escape XLT V6 with an automatic trans and 92,000 miles. Aside from some puzzling electrical quirks (Smart Junction Box?/Interior Overhead Lights that stopped working and a front passenger door the does not lock with the rest), it runs great. However, ever since I got it with 77,000 miles, it can be heard audibly tapping going uphill. I recently watched one of Scotty's videos where he mentioned that a Ford V8 Truck really needs 5w-30 in the engine instead of the 5w-20 printed on the oil filler cap. Can I use 5w-30 in my Escape V6 without damage to the engine?

Thanks,

Sure, if the engine is worn you can do that. Of course it's not really going to fix any problems. If the engine is worn internally it's still going to make noise when you strain it
