I want to buy the car that is the most economical and gives greater distance on a full tank. Both cars seem to be a similar enough price to fuel (Veloster being a little more expensive). I will drive 400 Km on the motorway once a week and short trips during the week. Thanks for your help!!

ps -  checked out the Avensis as you guys recommended and it was dodgy!

the car that is the most economical

Toyota hybrid.

I wouldn't touch a Korean car with a 50ft pole.

Now. The Hyundai I20 isn’t available in the US, so most of us won’t have experience with that model. In general though Hyundai has no shortage of quality control problems, (the veloster isn’t that well-made). You’re better off looking into a Toyota or a Honda for that price point. They’re just as economical and WAY better built. See the page in our FAQ titled “Vehicles Reviewed by Scotty” for further info. Always have a mechanic check out anything you’re considering before you buy it.
