Just bought a 2021 Toyota Avalon touring have 600 mile on it. While trying to figure out buttons on it noticed a green tint appear on the driver side outside rear view mirror with defroster option. It shut off. Could not figure out what it was and could not get it to come on again, then the auto matic lights kicked on and it reappeared then went off. The mirror has a thin black line inside the outer of the mirror which i assume is the heating element to defrost the mirror. The green tint appeared inside the black line and covered the whole inside of the mirror. What or why does this green tint come on and what is its purpose ?

Maybe it's anti-glare tint for night time, like rear view mirrors have.
