Do you believe one reason some people prefer SUVS, is due to the fact that today's cars sit lower than they did years ago?

Yes. Especially in snow belt states.
And if the old cars got stuck in snow ruts, we just bought taller tires.
Newer cars do not have enough room to boost tire size.

An older owner of a new SUV has told me he had bought it so he can getin and out of it more comfortably because of his back.
