The red plastic straw from a can of starting fluid flew into the intake manifold

While spraying starting fluid into the intake of my 2006 Grand Prix 3.8, the red plastic straw flew into the intake manifold. Will it hurt the engine or do I need to remove the top of the engine and take it out?

It would have to get past the throttle body first.  Maybe you could remove that and see how far it went.  Do you have access to a bore scope to check it out?

Use a vacuum to get it out. Tape a cardboard tube from paper towels or something to the end of it.

Maybe fish around with a dowel covered in double sided tape might snag it.

I removed the throttle body and couldn't see into the dark opening. I don't have access to a bore scope.
