Hey Scotty,
I've noticed some hard cranking in my '98 4Runner with the 3.4L V6, after doing that it starts with no problem and drives well too. Is there a way to tell what could be the issue? I've asked my co worker who works on cars often and he believes is either the fuel filter or the fuel pump.

How old are your filters and spark plugs? Is your fuel pressure up to specification? Is the fuel pressure regulator holding static pressure in the fuel rail when the engine is turned off?
