After an initial start, my pickup is hard starting after driving 10 miles or so. Where should I start to diagnose the problem? The vehicle is rarely driven. 2004 F-150 5.4. 51,000 miles. Thanks in advance!

so you mean it cranks and cranks but won't run, or you mean it struggles to crank?

It struggles to crank for a few seconds. Sometimes I have to stop and then it will start on the second try. Thanks!

try to boost it from another vehicle and see if it starts normally. Get your battery+alternator tested.

It starts right away when cold.
