Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my question!
I have a 2008 Mazda3, it is 105300 miles, automatic transmission.
Recently it got a lot of work done in the front due to a car crash. The hose and reservoir of the steering pump broke but the guy that fixed it said the pump was ok, just the hose and container had to be replaced. Everything looked ok but when I drive it the wheel feels harder than it used to. The power steering levels are good. The hose does not seem to have a leak. And when I am parking the wheel gets really hard and the light turns on then off. When I turn the car back on it is off and will only get really hard when I am driving slow. No noise when I turn the wheel though.
Could this mean the pump actually got damaged in the accident or is there anything else that needs to be ruled out before buying a new one?
Also the car sounds rough when I accelerate and vibrates a bit. Not sure if that is related.
without seeing your car or the damage it sustained, I would guess the rack got bent.
