Passenger headlight isn.t out, but noticeably dimmer. Mechanic has changed bulb and fuse and problem persists, any ideas? Would replacing the entire assembly do it? Thanks.

Not likely. What is the voltage at the bulb connector under load?

doubtful.
try swapping the fuse & relay
otherwise it's probably a bad ground
If not that, then a faulty wire or connector
