- Which is the better Heavy Duty truck? 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 with the 6.6L gas engine and 6-speed transmission or 2021 Ford F250 with the 6.2L gas engine 6-speed transmission? I know the heavy duty GM's are much better built than the standard 1500's and they're slightly cheaper than the Ford's. However, which is the more reliable vehicle in the long run?
The 6.2 powertrain in the Ford is tried and true. If you're getting the truck for hard work, get the 250. The 2500 is a nice truck by GM but I would personally prefer the 6.2 over the 6.6.
You can't go wrong with either of those power trains but I would go Ford.
Ford, I say that because Ford has made their bread and butter with the truck market so their focus is on trucks. The 6.2 is tried and true as well as the 6 speed. I have the 6 speed and it’s done just fine. GM you can’t even keep up with because they have tried to cover everything instead of just focusing on one or two things and making them great. Add that to TERRIBLE QC and you got a recipe for disaster. Fords customer service is about the worst thing ever but that doesn’t play into their overall build quality.
see about a dodge! they are cheaper than BOTH
or a toyota! highly reliable and will last a couple hundred thousand miles.
ford is good as far as i know, but not on the cheap side.
anything but a gmc though! they have a myriad of problems that are either existing, or undiscovered as of yet...
