First off, thanks very much to Scotty for his humor and expertise! You da MAN!

Folks, for my 2008 Honda Fit (base model), it's idling a little less than smoothly and it's annoying. I think I should try changing the spark plugs and see what happens. I saw Scotty do that in a vid for that situation and it worked great. I have many questions and here are just a few. First I bought 4 Bosch Double Iridium #9614 plugs. The manual suggests NGK, or Denso but I'm guessing these double irids weren't around in 2008. Is that kosher for this car?

Next question is, I got a 10" long articulated 5/8" swivel spark plug socket with thin wall and which is magnetic (looks pretty nice actually). I saw a non Scotty vid on YT where a kid shows how he does it on his '08 Fit. He was able to access the plugs without taking the wipers off or anything other than reaching back there carefully with a similar tool. Is this right? I'm not bad at mechanics (I'm no Scotty, that's for sure) and it's something I always have had a knack for. Will I be ok doing this myself? Is it ok to continue using the existing coils?

Last but not least, I read somewhere to loosen the plug and blow away any surrounding debris with a compressor - sounds logical. Do I also dab a little grease on the threads?

When replacing the spark plugs- go with what the owner manual recommends. For that video that you watched- you could try that but look over that video again just to be safe and before doing anything else.
