2009 Nissan Altima always struggling when driving

Hello,, I have a 2009 Nissan altima with cvt transmission 2.5L,my question is my car always sound like it’s struggling when driving even after a oil change I took the car in nothing is wrong with it but the when I drive the engine has a medium to loud sound like a cat purring…is it the CVT transmission. Thank you very much

Are you meaning the transmission is slipping? I am not sure of your mileage, but the transmissions Nissan uses are junk. Most likely your transmission is starting to fail.

Cars with CVT transmission sounds like a boat when you floor them. Is that what you are experiencing? 

 

 


Yes exactly like a boat..sorry for late response


No worries. Just make sure you take care of that transmission by changing the fluid regularly. Change it now and then every 30k miles.

The sound is normal. Do the drain and refill for the transmission fluid.
