Hey Scotty! I've been following you for years! I need a favor. I am a Disabled Veteran and I need your help. GM is giving me problems honoring my vehicle’s warranty. They want me to pay $10,000 to replace my turbo and engine on my Chevy Trax. The vehicle still had warranty when the problems started. I don’t have the money to fix it, so I need to put pressure on GM to honor their warranty. Can you ask people on your page to help me by emailing GM’s CEO Mary Barra @ mary.barra@gm.com with the following message: Fix it now! Case # 9-6442782572/ Service Request #: 9-6504252969 Thank you for your help!

Can you tell us the year and mileage?

Please provide the whole story.

What year is your vehicle? What happened to the engine? When does your warranty expire? Why did GM service claim it isn't covered? Do you have maintenance records? Have you tried contacting GM customer service yourself?

Thank you for your service. That's terrible news to hear about GM not honoring their warranty. Good luck to you.

How come they want you to pay for a new engine, esp. if it’s under the powertrain warranty?  What is their excuse for not covering it?

Things might get legal here in a sec...

Yes, the devil is in the details. As much as I honor this person's service, there's just not enough detail to ask for support. EVERYTHING is in the details. (I hope that this veteran took notes of conversations, kept correspondences, etc). If this veteran can document events convincingly, I would think that conventional and social media organizations would respond, and pressure GM. But there's not enough in the narrative to turn what are essentially unverified claims into a credible and verifiable narrative. That's the challenge for this vet . . . to tell a detailed, verifiable and convincing narrative.
