Hi. I have a 2007 Dodge Durango Limited with the 5.7 Hemi. He problem is that the transmission wouldn’t shift into 4th gear when going higher speeds like 70 mph. It would stay in 3rd the whole time. It would rev up to 3500 rpms and wouldn’t shift. Finally the transmission gave up and put another one in. It’s still doing the same thing. Could it be a bad computer cause we changed every sensor that the scan tool told us it was. Help? Or could it be something else.
Could be the computer but I would have someone with a dealer level scan tool check the thing and see before you replace the computer because it expensive to replace and if you can't pinpoint the issue(and even if it is the computer) you might want to consider selling the truck because Fiat/Chrysler(they make dodges) is one of the worst car makers in the world. Never buy one of their cars again.
Take the OD lockout off. I use the overdrive lockout when pulling our camper. Then when unhooked ir would not go back into "high gears". Saw the OD light on dash and read manual. It said the button on shifter would left car go into high gear. Made big difference in mileage.
