I have a 05 Ford five hundred with a cvt when I test for a short the test light is blinking and the sjb is clicking under the dash also I can stick the test light on 3 fuses under the hood and makes the test light also blink I've been over every inch of the car I cannot figure this out I have had O2 heater malfunctions p0107 p0141 p0155 p0191p0403 p0452 all cause by a short it was running fine till one day then started smoking from to lean or to rich

I can get the test light were it blinks very dim barley on but can't get a lead on it

Where is smoke coming from and what color is it? Exhaust, under the hood?

With all those sensor codes it's pretty obvious that you're dealing with a short/open or multiple shorts/opens.

On those 2005 Ford cars there was a common issue problem with the wiring harness .

It's under the vapor management valve (between the power steering fluid reservoir and the strut tower) . The harness to the PCM sits on the AC evaporator line up by the firewall on the passenger side. Eventually the plastic wiring conduit gets worn through and then the metal AC line starts working on the actual insulation on some of the wires inside of the harness and causes a short/open.

You can't tell if it's damaged unless you lift the harness off of the ac line and inspect the bottom of it so you have to remove that strut brace and move aside the vapor valve.

Do a Google or a Youtube search for "Ford 500 harness problem".
