- I bought my first car a few months ago, redid the paint, had the thing all apart and back together. The only thing I didn't mess with was the engine and of course it's ticking... It's a 2002 v6 mustang, and the passenger side has a tick that gets randomly louder and quiter only showing up at around 2krpm until 3.5krpm. it's a light tick that speeds and slows according to the rpm. I tried seafoam to no avail any ideas?
NEVER use Seafoam in your engine.

On those V6's 3 likely causes that have been discussed in the Mustang forums.
1. Exhaust manifold leak (95+ % of the time) 2. Stuck hydraulic lifter, 3. Roller rockers are loose.
