Hey Mr Scott I recently bought a new engine and gear box for my car Toyota wish 2006 automatic, it has sport mode which makes it run like a manual but everytime I engage it to sport mode it lightens up the engine light but when it's in just drive it works perfectly, I had it scanned but no error codes showed so what could be the problem
Germlins. My first thing I would check to see if the things that allow sport mode to be engaged is connected properly. If there is even a single pin out off then it can cause the light since it be a separate tune in the system. After that then it's just a phantom. Hard to impossible to trace but doable with enough time. If the work was done recently I suggest you go back to the mechanic who did it and have him give it a once over. Warrenty should still be in effect if the job was recent.
