Hey Scotty I just bought a 2015 Acura TLX 3.5 V6 last month the car drives like a dream but my transmission seems jerky and a bit delayed by a couple of seconds and seems to be jerking or maybe switching gears at 20-30 mph is this normal I’m taking it to Acura they said they have to do a transmission diagnosis what do you think is wrong with it?

Bit of an oxymoron, no?

Did you have it inspected by a professional mechanic, before purchase? Did it shift erratically during your test drive?

You didn’t mention the mileage, but if the transmission was poorly maintained by the previous owner, it could well mean you’re looking at a major repair expense.

However, rather than taking it to the dealer (unless it’s still under warranty), have it inspected by a transmission expert in your area, and get an accurate diagnosis before throwing money at the vehicle.

I’d start by checking the transmission fluid level & condition along with scanning the vehicle for any trouble codes.

Over the lifespan of the company, no they are not known for horrible transmissions.

TMK, the two exceptions occurred in the early 2000’s that had imadequate transmission oil flow on one of the gears with some models and more recently with models that use the ZF 9 speeds transmission. Your car has the ZF 9 speed.
