Hi, I have a 2012 Toyota Matrix, 130,000 KM. I am in Canada.
The front heat shield has rusted through and fallen off. It can't be repaired. Should I buy a new one and install it? They are not really expensive but I am getting conflicting advice as to whether the shield is necessary. Thanks

If it was my Matrix, I would get one and put it on. Heat can do things to all the electronics, belts, hoses, etc. near your exhaust.Toyota didn't put them on there to just look pretty - which they aren't!
