Hi Scotty and everyone, I have 2000 Toyota Solora where it will go into gear, but when releasing the clutch it doesn’t catch?
Please don’t tell me I need a new clutch. Is there anything else I can check before assuming I need a new clutch? Thanks for your time.
There are some tips for checking the clutch pedal adjustment here, though with wear that would normally produce the opposite problem of the clutch not releasing fully:

This video describes checking for a sticking clutch pedal:

Unfortunately though if the above items check out you would need a new clutch.
Really 23 years is not a bad run for a clutch assuming it's original.
For future reference please note that the title line is for a short description, not for details or your full question. Thank you. (Text moved.)
