Hi Scotty, I bought a used 2012 toyota highlander from a dealer last january. It is the sport version with v6 engine, automatic AWD. One day driving down the road and I hear and feel a loud thump out of the blue I continued driving and it wouldn’t do it again. But then I noticed a loud bass sound coming from back of car and sometimes the transmission is rough in engagement. The car is under warranty for another two months do you think its anything major? My husband doesn’t think it is but I do. I think it may be tran or rear differential or both, but you are the expert. Please help.
I would get it check out since it under warranty that why u paid $$$$
Could be a backfire .. but if transmission is rough hmmmm.
Keep insisting it a problem with the dealership and if they say it no get it written in writing
