Hi scotty ive got a 2008 scion tc with the 5 speed manual transmission and whenever I shift into 5th gear going over 40mph it grinds into the gear can you give me your opinion on what's going on?

Perhaps the 5th gear is going out.

Do not use that gear to get the most out of your transmission.
