The dealer wants to replace the sensor but the transmission specialist told me it was a circuit problem and showed me the damaged wire. I don't know what to do. The dealer already ripped me off for 200 diagnostic charge and wants me to shell out almost 800 to fix it and do some sort of transmission treatment. Please help me out with some guidance.

Fix the wire. It explains the P0717 code and is responsible for the computer disabling the traction control.
